Canadian cheddar burgers with pea-meal bacon
Directions for INGREDIENTS
- 1 egg
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 Tbsp (45 mL) sirup
- 1 Tbsp (15 mL) city mustard
- ½ tsp (2 mL) every salt and pepper
- ¾ cup (175 mL) cut diamond Marble Cheese (about three oz/90 g)
- ¼ cup (60 mL) Panko or dry breadcrumbs
- 1 lb(s) (500 g) lean beef
- 4 slices peameal bacon
- 4 leaves lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 slices Spanish onion
DIRECTIONS
1. In a bowl, beat egg with garlic, half the sirup, the
mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in cheese and breadcrumbs. combine in beef; form
into four ¾-inch (2 cm) thick patties.
2. Place patties and peameal bacon on lubricated grill over
medium heat; brush bacon with half the remaining sirup. shut lid and grill,
turning once, and brushing bacon with remaining sirup, till bacon is firm and
grilled through, regarding four minutes total (remove bacon and keep warm), and
till a digital measuring instrument inserted sideways into centre of patties
reads 160°F (71°C), regarding quarter-hour total.
3. Split and toast buns on grill. high with lettuce, patty,
bacon, tomato and onion; high with roll lids.
